Almond (Prunus dulcis) belongs to rosaceae and is one of the major three tree nuts that can cause allergic reactions including anaphylaxis is some people. The nuts are used as an ingredient in many food products such as breakfast cereals and bakery items. In manufacturing plants that also product items that claim to be free of Almond residue, cross contamination is an important food safety concern.
AgraQuant® Almond is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) that determines a quantitative level of Almond residue in raw and processed foods, environmental swabs and rinse water. The kit is supplied with standards, antibody coated microwells, extraction buffer, wash buffer, conjugate, substrate and stop solution.
