MicroSnap Enterobacteriaceae
Same Shift Enterobacteriaceae Results for Food, Water and Environmental Samples
MicroSnap Enterobacteriaceae (EB) is a rapid test for the detection and enumeration of Enterobacteriaceae. The test uses a nvel bioluminogenic reaction that generates light when EB bacteria are present. The light generating signal is then quantified in an Hygiena Luminomter. Depending on the required level of detection, MicroSnap EB is able to provide results in the same working day or shift.
The two step procedure requires a short incubation period facilitating growth of bacteria followed by a detection step. During incubation in enrichment media, bacteria numbers inccrease and potential sample interference is reduced. As bacteria grow they use up available food resources in the media and generate biomerkers. The greater the number of bacteria in the sample the higher the biomarker concentration and the more light output. An aliquot of the enriched sample is transferred to the detection device, activated mixed and measured in a luminometer. The light output is directly proportional to the concentration of bacteria present.
