The AgraStrip® Gluten G12 kit offers food processors and laboratories a reliable and accurate test method to detect the presence of gluten in foods, rinse waters and environmental swabs.
Dietary gluten present in wheat, barley, rye and oats is responsible for the immune mediated condition known as Coeliac disease.
The G12 antibody has been used by Romer Laboratories to develop the AgraQuant® Gluten G12 and the AgraStrip® Gluten G12 kits.
The incorporation of the G12 antibody offers food laboratories a more reliable test, as it targets the toxic fragment that triggers the auto immune reaction in coeliac patients - the 33mer peptide found in the alpha-2 gliadin protein. G12 is capable of detecting potential immunotoxic varieties of oats.
AgraStrip® Gluten G12 kits are ready-to-use lateral flow devices (LFD) for on-site testing. These immunological tests provide food processors a means to conduct analysis on a wide range of foods, rinse water and surface samples within 11 minutes (including extraction). Corrective action can therefore be implemented immediately when circumstances arise.
AgraStrip® LFD's represent a fast and simple qualitative strip test method in which specific antibodies labelled with colloidal gold are used for visual colour development at a test and control zone.
Each test kit comes complete with 10 strips, antibody coated incubation vials, extraction tubes, extraction buffer, surface swabs and additional accessories.
