The BioTool Swiss ProfiClave PC20B are compact, automated bench-top media sterilizers designed for rapid preparation of agar and nutrient media. They combine three functional modes: liquid media sterilizer, autoclave, and water bath. With a capacity range from 0.5 to 16 liters, these systems provide high-speed sterilization, fast cooling, and precise temperature control, making them ideal for microbiology laboratories, research centers, pharmaceutical facilities, and food testing labs.

 

Principle of Operation

The ProfiClave operates as a fully automated stirred and temperature-controlled vessel. Media are sterilized under pressure in a stainless-steel cuvette using a double-cycle process. Integrated temperature sensors, a magnetic stirrer, and a pressure-controlled cooling system ensure complete and homogeneous sterilization of agar and nutrient broths. The automatic pressure correction system adjusts boiling points relative to ambient pressure to prevent flash boiling and ensure de-aeration. Cooling occurs rapidly within approximately 20 minutes, allowing media pouring to begin in as little as 60–90 minutes.
