The BioTool Swiss ProfiClave PCX is an advanced, compact automated media preparator designed for fast, reproducible preparation, sterilisation, and cooling of microbiological media. It integrates heating, mixing, sterilisation, and controlled cooling in a single workflow, ensuring consistent and contamination‑free preparation for microbiology, food and beverage QC, environmental labs, and research facilities.

Principle of Operation

The PCX operates as a fully automated, temperature‑controlled media preparation system. Media are loaded into a stainless‑steel vessel where automatic magnetic stirring, controlled heating, sterilisation, and programmable cooling are performed. Once at dispensing temperature, the lid unlocks for sterile connection via the Auto‑Lock quick connector to dish fillers or media dispensing systems. The sampling tube is auto‑centred at the lowest point to maximise harvest volume (>15 L) while maintaining residual volume below 0.2 L.
