CompactDry™ TCR (Total Count Rapid) is a ready-to-use dry medium plate designed for the rapid enumeration of total viable bacteria in food, water, beverages, and environmental samples. CompactDry™ TCR delivers results within 24 hours—significantly faster than conventional agar methods – while maintaining accuracy, sensitivity, and compliance with ISO 4833-2:2013 standards. The plates are compact, convenient, and suitable for routine microbiological quality control.

The CompactDry™ TCR plate consists of a non woven cloth containgn pre-dried, nutrient-infused gel medium with tetrazolium chloride (TTC), which acts as a redox indicator. When a liquid sample (1 mL) is inoculated onto the plate, it spreads uniformly across the medium by capillary action. After incubation, viable bacterial colonies reduce TTC to form red-colored colonies, which can be easily visualized and counted. Results for most matrixes are available within 24 hours at 35+1 °C, enabling rapid and reliable enumeration of total aerobic bacteria.
