Rapid Isolation for Methicillin Resistant Staph aureus for Nasal Swabs

HardyCHROM MRSA is a selective and differential medium recommended for the qualitative detection of nasal colonization by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) to aid in the prevention and control of MRSA infections in health care settings.  The medium simplifies identification of MRSA as the strains grown in the presence of chromagenic substrates produce deep-pink to magenta colonies. There are selective agents present to inhibit non-MRSA strains.
