DETECTION OF SOY ALLERGEN IN FOOD, RINSE WATERS AND SWABS 

3M™ Soy Protein Rapid Kits are a sensitive, ready to use lateral flow device for on-site routine testing for soy allergens.

Allergens can be detected at any stage of the production process from ingredient testing through to finished product analysis. The lateral flow device provides hygiene test result within 11 minutes, enabling corrective actions to be implemented quickly when required.

The Hook Test Advantage

The hook effect or prozone effect is well-recognised immunologic phenomenon where the effectiveness of antibody based assays can impaired when there are high concentration of the target allergen. This can produce false negative results for highly contaminated samples that pose a high risk to allergy sufferers. The 3M^TM Allergen kits have an additional Hook Line detection system in their strips to identify this problem, providing great confidence and security in your allergen reporting.

Soy Allergens

Soybean (Glycine max) is a legume which has been used for thousands of years as a food and is used throughout the food industry as emulsifiers and binders. Soybean is highly nutritious and has a high protein content, some of which trigger allergic reactions in susceptible people. Food manufacturers must consider cross contamination when producing foods which claim to be soy free. As a result, there is a need for sensitive detection systems. The 3M^TM Soy Protein Rapid test kit will provide reliable and sensitive results helping prevent the release of contaminated product in the marketplace.
